Mojo Horn Section
Mojo Horn Section
Description
MOJO is based on the twelve major wind instruments: Trumpet, Trombone, Muted Trumpet, Muted Trombone, Piccolo Trumpet, Bass Trombone, Soprano Sax, Alto Sax, Tenor Sax, Bari Sax, Clarinet and Flugelhorn. Using MOJO it’s easy to decide which instrument to load. Solo and ensemble playing is built into separate core patches, as are all articulations and release types. MOJO makes it as easy and simple as possible to start playing without having to scroll through dozens of patches first. When one of the twelve main instruments is loaded, the interface below will be displayed.
The first two buttons let you determine how many players should play this instrument (from one to ten) and what function they should play (polyphonic, monophonic, or legato). These knobs, as well as virtually every other parameter in the MOJO interface, can be controlled via MIDI, allowing these knobs to be programmed and adjusted as you play. Using these functions, it’s easy to sequence a stacked trumpet section, then switch to a solo trumpet, then back to the section, all within a MIDI track or performance.
When you add players to the ensemble, MOJO intelligently spreads the ensemble around the stereo image, giving you control over the dispersion, tuning variation, and other aspects of the group.
The on-screen display shows you which articulation and release type is active at any given time. Each instrument includes various articulations and release layers that are activated via keyswitches, such as bends, runs, crescendo, swells, doits, falls, staccato, stabs, and more.
This video shows how each articulation can be activated via the keyswitches and shows a typical set of articulations for each instrument in MOJO :
Doits, falls at different speeds, and up-slurs are available as releases and can also be triggered via keyswitches. In other words, if you want a sustain chord, you hold the keyswitch trigger, and just as you release the original chord, MOJO will play the release articulation based on the original notes you played.
Swells and crescendos are programmed to synchronize to the tempo of the host sequencer. Using MOJO ‘s advanced automatic Timestrech, you can configure MOJO to play swells and crescendos the exact number, from 1 beat to 18 beats. MOJO can also follow a changing tempo, so if you have tempo changes in the middle of the song, Swells and Crescendos will automatically adjust.
Each basic instrument includes a full suite of integrated effects, such as compression, limiting, reverb, EQ and more.
Many other engines and controls are integrated into MOJO , including physically modulated vibrato, advanced humanization, character control (allowing adjustment between mellow versus aggressive playing), attack control for more percussive playing, and EZRoom a convolution reverb.
In addition to the twelve basic instruments discussed above, MOJO also has pre-recorded riffs and special effects.
